Happy Krishna Janmashtmi To All the OyeLudhiana Readers
OyeLudhiana wishes a very Happy Janmashtmi (Lord Krishna’s Birthday) to all its readers and facebook followers.
Janamashtmi is the auspicious Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, an avatar of the god Vishnu.
Lord Krishna is the eight son of Devaki and Vasudeva.
On this auspicious day, everyone in Ludhiana are going to Temples to pray for their devotion to Lord Krishna. Many sansthas around Ludhiana have also organised for events like Rasa Lila and Dahi Handi. As we posted on our OyeLudhiana Facebook page as well, Krishna Mandir has recently been re-designed for the occasion.
On this day, Rasa lila, the dramatic enactments of the life of Krishna, are a special feature in regions of Mathura and Vrindavan.
If you are not very known to these interesting events, Rasa lila re-creates the flirtatious aspects of Krishna’s youthful days and, the Dahi Handi celebrate God’s playful and mischievous side, where teams of young men form human pyramids to reach a high-hanging pot of butter and break it.
Janmashtmi is celebrated in different ways in different parts of India but one thing which remains the same is the enthusiasm, which is equal in all these states celebrating the Janmashtmi and everyone young and old is a part of the celebrations.
Check out here how schools in Ludhiana are celebrating this auspicious occasion today.
