Christian Medical College and Hospital is one of the top hospitals of Ludhiana. CMCH was the first medical school for women in Asia. It was founded by Dame Edith Mary Brown. Later it became co-educational. It became officially recognized by the government in 1915. Initially it was affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh but later in 1999 it was affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Presently CMCH is one of the top medical colleges of India and it is also famous for their signature uniforms for their physicians and medical students.
