Roadies ,Fast and Furious,Torque  has increased the craze of high cc (i.e. high speed)  cars among youth. There is nothing wrong in it till it is done within a limit. Youth spend alot to sit in a luxury car. But here we have some different story of students of  Guru Nanak Dev Engg. College, Ludhiana.

Team Silent Meshers of Guru Nanak Dev Engg. College, Ludhiana bagged 7th rank amongst 350+ engg. colleges throughout India in SAE BAJA 2012; off-road racing competition at Indore, Madhya Pardesh.

The team went full throttle as they were judged 7th among the top colleges of India “Hats off to Silent Meshers.

Ms. Saini, their Principal and Mr. Harmeet Singh stepped in as faculty advisor. This is again a success story of extra-curricular activities at our college, Jassi Panesar, student of GNE College said.

SAE BAJA is an off-road competition for the college students with a problem statement of designing and manufacturing an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) of their own.

Firstly virtual round was conducted in Bengaluru in August, 2011 from where 100 teams were shortlisted for the finals.

The team Silent Meshers consists of 22 members from 4th, 3rd and 2nd year Mechanical and Production engg.

The team stood 7th amongst top 100 teams and 1st in North India.

The team gained a lot from this experience and they intend to utilize this experience for BAJA – 2013. Three students of the team were also placed during the placement drive held at the event.
